Justin Driscoll

Hello, my name is Justin Driscoll. Originally from New Jersey, I call the wonderful state of North Carolina home. I might have taken your photo at some point or met you at a Rock N Roll show? However, I also have many other facets of my life I am passionate about. I started this site to talk about some of those things. Whether it be guitars, guitar gear, Harley's, Jeep stuff, photography, vinyl or travels, I'll be on here to chat about it. Stay Weird, Stay Creative!

Lucero at The Underground Fillmore 06-18-24 – Charlotte

Long overdue! The last time I saw the Lucero boys was the week before Covid shut down the world. The band ran through a quick set while supporting The Menzingers Wednesday at The Underground Fillmore (set list below). Post show I got to briefly catch up with Mr. Brian Venable (guitar). We chatted about vinyl records with my very good friend Sean. I had a 2015 Sailor Jerry 7″ promo of “All Sewn Up” handy. […]

Cosmic Reaper at The Rabbit Hole 06.07.2024

I have a special affinity for these dudes. I literally got to witness this band form and mold into the cohesive doom unit you see today! Garrett and I were neighbors and close friends. The Cosmic Reaper dudes needed some press photos and a place to practice. Every Wednesday night they set up shop in my photo studio and hammered out the tunes you hear today. Twas’ great to see them live in action at

Rock N’ Roll Shirt Hoarders – Volume One (1991 – 2011)

My one daughter yelled from the storage room “Hey dad, there’s 2 more boxes back here!!” – bringing the total to 8 bins. As I gazed out over the floor covered in shirts my other daughter said “Dad, you look really deep in thought. What are going to do with all of these?” I knew there were a lot but I had not placed my eyes on some of these in a decade. The sad

Nashville – Les Pauls n’ Rat Burgers

Nashville, widely known as Music City–and for good reason. I didn’t try the hot chicken but it did find a White Castle! But seriously, if you’re a musician or enjoy live music, get here! The Gibson Garage – Arguably the most iconic guitar brand in rock ‘n’ roll are still handmade in Nashville. The Gibson Garage has every color, make, model and configuration you can think of. And their southern hospitality was top-notch! You could

BJ Barham – The Evening Muse – 04.24.2024

BJ is no stranger to openly admitting his life’s trials and growth. I’ve had the pleasure of considering him a friend for some time now – and can also closely relate to the transition from Rock N’ Roll Touring Musician to full-time Father. His solo shows are something special. It’s more like “Rock N Roll Story time” with songs. The shows at The Muse are also a bit more intimate. A club that gave American

The ‘BoogieWoman’ Guitar & Rig Rundown with Adam Tanbouz – He is Legend

Last week I took a beach trip down to Wilmington, NC for some riffs and a rig run down with Mr. Adam Tanbouz, lead guitarist of the infamous He Is Legend. I’m a gear nerd but Adam blew my mind with his meticulous intricacies. Every guitar setup, album recording and live show – years of a man truly perfecting the craft! Most of our conversation centered around overall tone… clean tones with a dash of

The Fox and Falcon

David Burke brings his classic New American and modern steakhouse fare to SouthPark. For years, the prominent chef and restaurateur’s desire was to open a restaurant in Charlotte, precisely in the neighborhood where The Fox & Falcon by David Burke is located. The 4,100-square-foot space in Sharon Square was given a facelift after Dogwood closed in August. Dark wood furniture and heavy beams were brightened with lighter paint, ambient lighting, and white tablecloths and chairs.

Todd Weinstock of glassJAw’s 1992 Gibson LP Studio Lte

For all my NY hXc fans… I recently acquired  Todd Weinstock of GLASSJAW’s 1992 Gibson LP Studio Lite. Duncan EVH bridge HB and Gibson 496R neck + Sperzel locking tuners. Plays and sounds beautiful! Slim neck profile and a weight that wont break you back. “Typical Gibson” headstock repair. It can be seen in the “Siberian Kiss” music video and was used on the “EYEWTKAS” tour. Todd is super amazing – threw in some guitar

“The Grunge Grail” – 1969 Competition Mustang

Well, I have only wanted this guitar since I saw it on MTV back in 1991. The infamous “Smells Like Teen Spirit” music video 1969 Fender Competition Mustang with matching headstock. The actual guitar sold for over $4.5 million at auction last year. The guitar was taken out of tour rotation after being smashed into the soundboard during a brutal show at The Dallas Trees Club October 19, 1991. It has been said to have been
